The family and I went to see Shrek 4 today at the cinema. We would usually have waited for the DVD, but work arranged a private showing, so about 80 of us watched it together.

I’ve heard a few reviews and wasn’t holding out high hope for it really; but I have to say I didn’t think it was that bad. It nowhere near as good as the first Shrek, but I thought it was better than the third one.

The film pretty much does a “It’s a Wonderful Life”-esque, what would have happened if Shrek hadn’t been born. All the same characters are in it, and it moves along at a reasonable pace and is ok. It kept the kids amused and there were a few laugh out loud moments (I counted 2). The fat Puss in Boots seemed to get the most laughs…

You can do worse if you want to kill a couple of hours with the kids, its no Toy Story, but it’s ok.
